Delivering for
District E & Lawrence
As a tireless champion for District E and the City of Lawrence, Stephany is deeply committed to promoting economic growth, creating opportunities for residents, and improving the quality of life in Lawrence. In her current term, she has delivered significant results:
-
Transforming Our Parks: Stephany pushed for a $1.2 million transformation and expansion of Donovan Park on Andover Street. This vital project brought a state-of-the-art playground, a rubberized surface for children's safety, a new walk path, and enhanced green spaces for everyone to enjoy.
-
Championing Public Safety: Stephany secured $4.3 million for police and fire services, including a new fire truck for Ladder 4 on South Broadway. She also played a vital role in the police chief search committee, ensuring a fair and transparent process. Furthermore, Stephany strongly supported three crucial public safety contracts for the Lawrence Police Superior Officers' Union, Lawrence Police Patrolmen's Union, and Lawrence Fire Fighters Local 146. These contracts secured essential benefits, including hazardous pay and the reinstatement of education compensation (which had been eliminated before), among other vital benefits for our first responders.
-
Investing in Future Generations: Through strong support for city-wide youth programs and funding for essential school repairs, such as the potential roof project for the Frost School and enhanced traffic safety measures on Newton Street, benefiting Wetherbee School students and staff.
-
Driving Vital Infrastructure Improvements: Stephany supported over $16 million for DPW/Water & Sewer projects. These include water and sewer infrastructure rehabilitation, the construction of the new South Broadway with Merrimack Street intersection, and the upcoming Glenn Street freight rail improvements, which will benefit District E's industrial park and pedestrian safety. Additionally, Stephany's efforts have led to the paving of district streets with 10 more being added to the pipeline, some of which are scheduled to begin before the end of this year.

Much has been accomplished, but Stephany believes there is more work to be done. Her work continues to honor her late father's legacy and reflects the values her parents instilled in her. Stephany humbly asks for your continued support for a third term as District E's City Councilor.
